Are we so diffirent ?

Do you often think that the blacks are always standing on a lower economic standing ? Are blacks really inferior ? NO! They are just like any others. there are many blacks who are very talented. Can you think of some ? I believe you can easily think of some. For example, President Obama, Tiger Woods, Martin Luther King Jr or Will Smith. Did their color make them any inferior to anyone. No. They can just be as capable anybody.

Race, it is something our society have created, to a biologist, skin color is merely a human characteristic, due to a small portion in the DNA. Nature does not form groups and put people of the same skin color together, it is the people who gives such label. Why should we not treat blacks equally when in the end, they are the same as you on the inside ?

This creation called race, has foster inequality for centuries, however,it is something that can be changed, it is one's mindset on how we view others. I beg of you to reexamine your thoughts about race. It may not be easy, but it can be done.

While there are differences among us, we are also very much alike. We may have different culture and different race, we share one common thing. Earth. So why can't we live in peace and harmony ? We should stop racism, and we can stop racism! You have a role too!

Say NO! to racism!

So have you been a racist yourself ? have you pratice verbal rejection ? Using derogatory nouns to refer to people of other race or tell jokes that put down the group of people. Or perharps you might pratice avoidance, avoiding any interaction with a certain group or even physically attack them. It's time to stop.

This is a video i created to persuade others to stop racism.

Please turn up your volume. thanks.
This is how you can stop racism! It all begins with you.

1)Stand up and speak up when you see something unfair been done!
eg: object to any racism jokes.

2)You yourself should not practice racism. Set the example yourself!

3)Make friends with those of other races! This will show others that it is actually okay to make friends of other race and encourage the stop of racist.
4)Spread the message to stop racism to your friends and families! - it all begins with you! Before long, this message would be spread far and wide. Stopping racism is a group effort and it requires everyone's cooperation.

5)Join other celebrations, events or cross culture activities that is different from you. This will allow you to develop a better understanding towards other race and thus removing and misunderstanding and prejudice against others.
I hope that by educating you, this cycle of discrimination can be broken.
i would like to end off with a quote "Do onto others as others would do onto you"

Racism is still alive today!

Racism Today,

Racism is still persisting in our society. It is present in many countries like USA and even in Singapore. For example in Singapore, some may feel that the racism would become a thing of the past, at least among the educated. However,  Years ago, when Choo Wee Khiang was People's Action Party Member of Parliament, he made disparaging remarks about Indians and "Little India". He told Parliament: "One evening, I drove to Little India and it was pitch dark but not because there was no light, but because there were too many Indians around."

Racism is alive and well in the United states too.In the united states, In June 2009, black unemployment was 15.3 % compared to an 8.8% unemployment. This shows of the unequal employment between the white and the black.

This chart shows the approximate value of each group in the united states today, in congress in 2009 and in the presidency.
It shows how Other groups are dramatically underrepresented, while whites are overrepresented, where the figures are not proportional.

There is no doubt that income of  both white and black families in America have increased over the last 30 years after the civil right moment, however,  research shows that the increase was greater for white families. here was no progress in reducing the gap in family income between blacks and whites. In 2004, Average family income of blacks as compared to whites were only 58% of their total income, in the same age group.

This is not all. Not only racist exists in jobs, it also exists in school. For example, according to the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, The nationwide college graduation rate for black students is a mere 43% which is lower by 20% of the whites student. This shows how blacks are denied of equal opportunity to excel in their studies resulting in a low rate of graduation.

So why don't you do your part and stop racism. Spread the message if you can too! It will make this world a better place, both for you and them. Conflicts could be solved, fights between races would no long exists, hate crimes would not be committed and we would all be living in harmony. This beautiful future may be still far, but if you do your part, it will come one day.
