Racism is still alive today!

Racism Today,

Racism is still persisting in our society. It is present in many countries like USA and even in Singapore. For example in Singapore, some may feel that the racism would become a thing of the past, at least among the educated. However,  Years ago, when Choo Wee Khiang was People's Action Party Member of Parliament, he made disparaging remarks about Indians and "Little India". He told Parliament: "One evening, I drove to Little India and it was pitch dark but not because there was no light, but because there were too many Indians around."

Racism is alive and well in the United states too.In the united states, In June 2009, black unemployment was 15.3 % compared to an 8.8% unemployment. This shows of the unequal employment between the white and the black.

This chart shows the approximate value of each group in the united states today, in congress in 2009 and in the presidency.
It shows how Other groups are dramatically underrepresented, while whites are overrepresented, where the figures are not proportional.

There is no doubt that income of  both white and black families in America have increased over the last 30 years after the civil right moment, however,  research shows that the increase was greater for white families. here was no progress in reducing the gap in family income between blacks and whites. In 2004, Average family income of blacks as compared to whites were only 58% of their total income, in the same age group.

This is not all. Not only racist exists in jobs, it also exists in school. For example, according to the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, The nationwide college graduation rate for black students is a mere 43% which is lower by 20% of the whites student. This shows how blacks are denied of equal opportunity to excel in their studies resulting in a low rate of graduation.

So why don't you do your part and stop racism. Spread the message if you can too! It will make this world a better place, both for you and them. Conflicts could be solved, fights between races would no long exists, hate crimes would not be committed and we would all be living in harmony. This beautiful future may be still far, but if you do your part, it will come one day.
